Henry’s Lounge has roots going back to 1986, when it operated in Downtown Sacramento before relocating to Midtown in 2021. Three generations and women-led throughout, it’s a sports bar, grill, and arcade that has held onto its neighborhood bar soul while modernizing around it. The result is a comfortable, no-frills space that draws a genuinely diverse crowd — sports fans, pool players, karaoke regulars, and anyone who just wants a solid meal and a cold beer without a fuss.

Henry’s is widely considered one of the better spots in Sacramento to catch a game. HD screens throughout and a full sports package lineup mean there’s always something on, including early Sunday NFL kickoffs during football season. The back of the lounge houses two professional pool tables, arcade cabinets, and electronic dart boards — enough to keep a group entertained well into the evening.

The menu sticks to American bar classics and does them well. Bar bites cover nachos, wings, garlic cheese bread, onion rings, and more, while the main menu runs burgers, salads, and sandwiches including a Club, French Dip, and Philly Cheesesteak. Loaded fries and the classic cheeseburger are particular standouts.

The bar runs a full lineup — local craft drafts and domestics on tap, a solid selection of bottled beers, margaritas, martinis, mixed cocktails, and wine. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 4 PM to 7 PM with deals on well drinks and bottled beers.

Henry’s keeps a consistent weekly calendar that gives regulars a reason to come back on any given night. Monday brings Open Mic Night, Tuesday has karaoke and 8-ball pool tournaments, Wednesday runs trivia, and Thursday is 9-ball tournament night. It’s the kind of place where you can make it a habit.
