Karma Brew

Sitting directly across from Fremont Park on 16th Street, Karma Brew is the kind of place that’s easy to walk past and hard to leave once you’re in. Snug, dimly lit, and eclectic in the best way — one regular described it as a “funky European pub with a classy flare,” which is about as accurate as it gets. The fireplace, board games, and lived-in décor make it a natural retreat from the higher-energy stops along the Midtown circuit.

The draft selection takes craft beer seriously, with a rotating lineup that leans into Belgian-style wheats and ales, German lagers, California pale ales, and West Coast imperial reds. Barrel-aged sours and Russian Imperial Stouts make regular appearances for those chasing something with more weight. Wine is also available for those who prefer it.

The menu takes a Mediterranean-influenced approach to pub fare — wraps, platters, hummus and pita samplers, salads, sandwiches, and soups. Vegetarian and vegan options are well represented throughout, making it a solid stop for mixed groups.

The shaded outdoor patio faces Fremont Park and is one of the quieter, more pleasant places to sit outside in Midtown. Dog-friendly and ideal for people-watching, it’s particularly worth seeking out on a warm afternoon or a crisp autumn evening when the leaves are changing across the street.
